Apple has launched a version of the Apple Music service for Android users. This is the very first time that the company has released an original application for the Google-owned platform.
The application is available for download at Google Play store, but this app is still in its beta stage. Nonetheless, it might not work perfectly.

SMH reported that the music service appears pretty much identical to the iOS experience. The service focuses on human-curated content and new, popular music. The only difference with this app compared to the iOS version is that the sections of the app are accessible via a pull menu on the left side rather than in a row down at the bottom. The app does not have a widget, cast button, or anything else Android-specific in the beta. There is also no lock screen widget either, which will be a deal-breaker for some users.
Apple's senior vice president of software and services Eddy Cue told TechCrunch that the company purposely kept the Android design in mind when building the application. They made sure to use a hamburger menu at the top and kept the standard Android share button. According to Cue, Apple wants customers on Android to naturally be able to use it. Cue said they made sure users enjoyed a very familiar with Apple Music on iOS when they sat down to use the new app.
Since the app is still in beta, anything could change before it will be fully released. According to CNET, music videos are not available on the app, and users cannot sign up a family plan. Many of the other main features of Apple Music on iOS are, however, present, such as curated playlists and Beats 1 global radio station which is Apple Music's marquee feature.
Users who have used Apple Music before or own music on iTunes can supposedly get access to their library of music if they enter the same Apple ID in the Android app.
The beta app comes with a three-month free trial for Android users. After this period, users will pay $11.99 for monthly subscription.
