Dubai crown prince Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will reportedly shoulder the travel expenses of 400 football fans that would be flocking the Tianhe Stadium in Guangzhou, China to support the Al-Ahli team in the Second Leg of the Asian Champions League final match on Nov. 21.

Digital Gulf News reported the Sheikh's initiative to empower fans to give their support to Al-Ahli.  The prince owns the Al-Ahli Dubai Football Club.

A spokesman of the club said Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum's gesture aims to "enable fans who wish to cheer on their team to offer their moral support and encourage the players to achieve the desired results and win the title."

The Red Knights will face the Southern China Tigers for the second time this month to finally decide who will be this year's Asian Champions League winners, and Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum is expectedly one of his team's staunchest supporters.

The First Leg of the final ended in a goalless draw at the Al-Rashid Stadium in Dubai where more than nine thousand roaring Al-Ahli supporters were present.

Fursan failed to get a win, though, as they were outhustled by the Far Eastern counterparts, but they were fortunate to settle for the deadlock as the team actually was a man down during the last six minutes of the game.

Emirati defender Abdulaziz Haikel was given a red flag at the 84th-minute mark after he slapped Guangzhou's substitute forward Gao Lin, which made the Red Knights finish the contest at a disadvantage.

However, Cosmin Olăroiu's men pulled through with their defense to protect their goal until full time was reached.

Olăroiu has expressed confidence about his team's opportunity to win the championship even as they are viewed as the underdogs in this finale.

"I think the chances are still on the pitch and still 50/50," Olăroiu told reporters, as per Sport360. "Even though the second game is in China, it is still 50/50."

"We can still win, it doesn't matter that we didn't score. The biggest part was to not concede a goal," he added.

The 46-year-old Romanian coach was optimistic that they can beat Guangzhou in their own stadium as he claimed that his team always "do better" in away games.
