Four people have been confirmed dead and 33 others remained missing after a landslide, caused by heavy rains, buried around 20 homes at a village in eastern China late on Friday night.
At least 16 people have been killed after a landslide engulfed homes in eastern China. The flood-sparked landslide has rendered 21 people missing as heavy rains brought misery across a swathe of the country.
According to Daily Star, photos were posted on Chinese social media site Sina Weibo of rescue teams working through the night. The rescue teams were attempting to pull people from the mud and rocks that had buried 27 houses in Zhejiang province.

At least 300 people were evacuated with additional homes flooded in the wake of the disaster which struck on Friday evening after the landslide, state broadcaster CCTV said.
The central province of Hunan was hit by one of the worst winter flooding in more than 50 years. The information was reported by the official Xinhua news agency, forcing many to flee.
About 8,200 people were resettled after their homes were destroyed in the flooding, according to Xinhua.
According to ABC News, more than 87,000 people have been affected by the waters, which caused blackouts and road closures.
Since record keeping began in 1961, the flooding, which has also damaged crops, was the worst, provincial weather authorities said. Although no casualties have been reported so far, the floods are likely to continue, with more rain expected through Wednesday, Xinhua said.
Rescue personnel driving boats through village streets and helping residents escape through their windows were shown on photos circulating online, NDTV reported.
Xinhua said that waters were more than three meters over the alert level on Friday.
The landslide comes at a time when a Chinese village was buried by another landslide killing nine people with nearly thirty other missing. The torrent of rocks and mud unleashed by heavy rains buried more than two dozen homes at a village in Zhejiang province on Friday night, killing 9 and leaving 28 others missing.
The local government said in a statement posted online that hundreds of other residents of the small region of Lidong had been evacuated amid flooding in the area.
Rescuers left heavy machines at the side and they dug by hand through the mud and rubble, in case any survivors are trapped in the dirt and rubble, footage aired by CCTV showed.
