French police on Sunday released a photograph of a suspect related to Friday's bloodbath in Paris, which claimed the lives of 129 innocent people and wounded hundreds more.

Twenty-six year-old Salah Abdeslam, who is considered armed and extremely dangerous, is a French national who was residing in Brussels -- about 200 miles away from Paris -- at the time of the attacks. Police have warned the public not approach him if he is recognized.

Initial reports said that eight suicide bombers who died on the scene. Then on Saturday, French authorities changed that figure to seven. Only hours after that, on Sunday, an international warrant was issued for Abdeslam's arrest.

A total of seven men have been detained from the impoverished community of Molenbeek. This town, which is close to Brussels, is "mostly populated by immigrants from the Arab world and linked to violence," according to the NY Times.

It should be noted that not all of the men are being held in direct connection with the deadly attacks, according to CNN.

One of Abdeslam's brothers is reportedly among the individuals being detained, and another was allegedly one of the attackers in the three-hour massacre. The NY Times stated that Abdeslam was in the same area of Molenbeek when his companions were arrested. But somehow he went undetected; it is not clear how this happened.

According to the police, two vehicles were used in the attacks, a black Seat Leon and a gray or black Volkswagen Polo, which was allegedly used as a getaway car.

French channel BFM TV reported that the Seat Leon car was found abandoned in a Paris suburb with three AK-47s inside. The guns are believed to have been used in the attacks. Meanwhile, the Volkswagen was found close to the Bataclan music theatre after being used by the three gunmen who died there, according to the NY Times.

Both cars were rented from Belgium, a Brussels federal prosecutor stated on Sunday.

French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve has confirmed that the carefully coordinated attacks were organized "by a group of individuals based in Belgium" who had "benefited from accomplices in France."

U.S. President Barack Obama has called the massacre "an attack on the civilized world."

French President Hollande has emphasized that France will step up efforts to wipe out ISIS in the U.S.-led coalition against the group.
