She was born in 1835. After Qingxianfeng became express, he picked her as his wife. She was 16 years old at that time. After Xiangfeng express died, she became dowager but still had political power. She died in 1908.
The interesting thing is that even though she had countless jewelry for her whole life and she changed every time when she took pictures, she never changed the ear rings.
She loved ask others drawing pictures for her. When she was getting old, she heard that photograph is much more quickly and more realistic. This stimulates her interest about photograph. In order to taking photograph, she built a gorgeous place in Summer Palace just for photo taking.
She cared about Fengshui, so everytime she just took the picture with the whole body. She didn't care about beauty or details.
Before she took pictures, she read books and picked a lucky day for photograph.
She always came up with different ideas to take photos.
