Sony has officially announced that Super Nintendo classic 'Super Star Wars' will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita this week.

The action game was first released on Nintendo's console in 1992. It was later on was re-released for the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console in 2009.

The Super Nintendo video game is based on the original 'Star Wars' movie. 'Super Star Wars' allows players to control Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Chewbacca as they play through the events of the original film. The game features a lot of of side-scrolling run-and-gun gameplay, with some space battles and vehicular gameplay thrown in.

Sony reported that an "enhanced" version of the game will be released on PlayStation. This version of the game is expected to have new save features, Trophies, leader boards, updated display and new controller options. The game is listed as a Cross Buy title, meaning buying it on any of the two platforms also unlocks it on the other. This is the very first time Super Star Wars has been released for any platform other than Nintendo hardware.

Meanwhile, the Star Wars Battlefront sci-fi movie series will be released this week. The game version of Star Wars Battlefront will be available on Nov. 17 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Reviving the popular online shooter game with a new visual fidelity pushes more authentic sense of scale in every encounter. A free Battlefront companion app has also been launched by Sony which features a card game and more.

The company also revealed Battlefront PlayStation 4 bundles alongside three other, older Star Wars games like 'Star Wars: Bounty Hunter', 'Star Wars: Racer Revenge' and 'Star Wars: Starfighter.' There is no official price list for the said bundle but expect more details soon. 

Recently, EA released a new live-action trailer for the game featuring actress Anna Kendrick.

The new Super Star Wars will be available on Nov. 17. for PS4 and PS Vita.
