The Chinese State telecommunications certification authority has released images of the upcoming HTC One X9 mobile phone.
According to Android Police, the Chinese Government office that deals with communication devices such as the HTC One X9 is officially named TENNA and many compare the office to the FCC in the United States.

Pictures of the phone have been uploaded on TENNA's official website, and it seems that the design borrows from previous HTC One designs.
Android and Me reports that the design of the phone is comparable to the One A9, One V, and Nexus 6P. However, there are some slight differences and upgrades to the HTC One X9.
For example, there is now a better resolution camera with flash module connected to an oblong section of the back of the phone. Both the camera and flash module do not protrude to deter any scratches.
The specs for the phone is mid-end and can be upgraded. The HTC One X9 has a 8-core 2.2GhHz processor (no maker detailed), 2GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage (upgradeable via Micro SD to 1TB), 5.5 inch 1080p ready screen, as well as a 13MP rear / 5MP front 1080P capable camera.
The phone will be available on all major Chinese phone networks and will be made available with an Android 5.0.2 OS build. The choice of the build is rather peculiar considering newer HTC phones normally ship out with a 5.1.1 build.
The OS is, however, fully upgradeable to the newest build and the phone should have no problems handling any updates available.
Currently, there is no news on a release date for the HTC One X9 but fans of the HTC One series should know that HTC does make China exclusive models so don't expect to see this model outside of China or Asia.
