President Xi Jinping Arrives In Manila For APEC Summit: More Economic Opportunities Expected

Xi Jinping, the President of China,arrived in Manila last November 17, to attend the 23rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leader's meeting, according to Xinhua.
This event comes in time as the region anticipates 'more opportunities from China' for the purpose of economic integration.

Air China was the President's official airline for travelling from China to Philippines. The flight arrived without any delay in Manila at noon, according to CNN.
The Chinese President was formally welcomed by Cesar Purisima, Philippine Secretary of Finance, as he made his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Leung Chun-ying, the chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, was also present to welcome the President. Other officials include Zhao Jianhua, Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines.
Xi's objectives for the APEC visit is to deliver an influential speech at the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, provide a keynote speech at the APEC CEO Summit and be present at the dialogue between APEC leaders and APEC Business Advisory Council.
XI will aim to give further details about China's current policy on cooperation in the Asia-Pacific Region and the implementation of the agreement from last year's APEC meeting in Beijing.
Another aspect that Xi is expected to discuss is China's progress on the implementation of the 'Belt and Road' initiative. The Chinese president will briefly enumerate the prospective opportunities the proposal will bring to China and the rest of the world.
China shows its support towards the host country, as confirmed by President Xi's presence in the APEC Summit in Manila.
China also places great value in the APEC process, according to Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister.
"We are very happy that he is here. He honored our invitation," said Albert Del Rosario, Philippine Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs, via a press conference last Tuesday.
Philippines and China both agreed that there will be no 'contentious issues' discussed during the APEC Economic Leader's Meeting.
APEC, which comprises 21 members from all over the globe, has portrayed a huge role in trde liberalization advancement and facilitation. This in return promotes economic integration and expanding connections.
