Ben Affleck is putting his real-life experience on the spotlight to good use on his latest movie, "Gone Girl."
The 41-year-old actor graced the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly alongside British actress Rosamund Pike. The two play married couple Nick and Amy Dunne in the onscreen adaptation of Gillian Flynn's crime thriller, "Gone Girl."

In the movie, Affleck's character was named as a suspect in the murder of his wife, who went missing on the couple's fifth wedding anniversary.
But playing a misunderstood character, who saw himself being constantly hounded by cameras, is not something unfamiliar to Affleck. After all, the actor admitted that he himself has been frequently placed under the glare of the public spotlight.
Affleck, who is a father of three children by wife Jennifer Garner, told the entertainment magazine that he understood "what it was like to have the tabloid world paying attention to me and ascribing negative motivations to whatever I might be engaging in."
The actor also remarked that being in show business is much like being "cast in a soap opera" that he can't control.
"Gone Girl's" director David Fincher said Affleck was the perfect choice to play Nick Dunne.
In a separate interview, Fincher said the actor knows "what it's like to be hunted," which was a huge factor in his casting.
Furthermore, the director said Affleck is someone who "knows what a lose-lose situation is and understands what's funny about it, however sad."
Aside from Affleck and Pike, the film also stars actors Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry. The movie was produced by actress Reese Witherspoon.
"Gone Girl" is scheduled to hit movie theaters on Oct. 3.
