Cyborg Justino Focused on Dropping to Bantamweight to Fight Ronda Rousey

Cris "Cyborg" Justino is dedicated to drop to bantamweight for a chance to compete against UFC's 135-pound champion Ronda Rousey.

Justino, Invicta FC's 145-pound champion, has no intention to join Bellator's 145-pound class as she focuses on dropping down her weight to 135 and be with Dana White's company to make the fantasy match happen.

Cyborg, 29, is facing several road blocks such as that losing weight drastically may not be advisable to her health, a comment that was made when she was under the management of former UFC champion Tito Ortiz.

Dana White has been very open to having Justino in the UFC. For her to do so, she must comply with the weight requirement as 135 pounds is the company's heaviest women's division.

"Either you wanna come (into the UFC) and try to be the champ or you don't," White stated in an interview with MMAWeekly.com.

The opportunity for Cyborg to compete in the UFC has never been this open since the clash between the company and Ortiz due to weight class issues.

With UFC's strong affiliation with Invicta FC, Cyborg's transfer to the UFC will be much easier as Invicta FC is allowing its fighters to move if the opportunity knocks.

Shannon Knapp, president of Invicta FC has been very open to the possibility that the company's featherweight champion can shed some body weight and perform in the UFC. With Justino committed to get there, she is aware that dropping to 135 pound and taking up a few tune-up fights can earn her the shot against Ronda Rousey.

Justino is known for defeating Gina Carano back in 2009, winning the Strikeforce title via TKO in the first round. Cyborg successfully defended the title three times but was stripped of the title on her 3rd defense, after she was found positive for performance-enhancing substances.
