The company reported that the new app can zoom, crop, trim, make it slow, make it fast, make it loop, make it rebound back and forth, make a whole bunch of other actions and arrange them into a photoset. Tumblr added that if users need some inspiration, they can look over to the #made with tumblr search to see what other users have created.

To use this updated Tumblr app, users can simply hit the "compose" button and choose a photo post. Then pick a set of burst-mode images or a video of the users who want to turn into a GIF.  A badge "GIF" will mark for those suitable photos and videos. The user is limited to a three-second clip to start with, but they can stretch it out in the edit tool.

According to Wired, the user can make it "rebound" back and forth like a Boomerang post. Users can tweak the speed from 0.5x to 4x, and zoom it or crop it by pinching the screen. Then user also can make a GIF when shooting a video on a laptop screen with their iPhone camera using this app.

Tumblr urged users not to disregard the capabilities of this application because it can produce extremely handsome GIFs. It advised users that the shorter the GIF is, the better it will look.

Visual Supply Co., creator of the popular VSCO Cam photo-editing app, recently released an iOS app called DSCO (pronounced 'disco'), which let user easily capture, edit, and share animated GIFs. To use this new app, capture a few seconds of video with the app's built-in camera, swipe to add filters to the photo, and then hit 'Publish' to send it right to VSCO profile.
