New NBA rumors are out that the Boston Celtics, particularly team president Danny Ainge, is not really interested in trading for Sacramento Kings' franchise player DeMarcus Cousins despite recent speculations that a deal between the two clubs is imminent in midseason.

Following the recent Kings' saga concerning Cousins and head coach George Karl falling in a heated confrontation, a lot of trade rumors have sprung out linking the 6-foot-11 center to the Celtics as Ainge allegedly wants to acquire a true superstar to lead his team and he also has the assets to do so.

Rumblings of a potential deal involving David Lee, Marcus Smart, Jared Sullinger, and a couple of future draft picks in exchange for Cousins and Rudy Gay have emerged, but there are still no official announcements or any indications that the two parties are really holding talks.

One may wonder why, but the Boston Herald recently reported that Ainge and the Celtics have not given Sacramento a call because they are wary about the Kings' asking price and the risk of taking Cousins' "behavioral issues" to the culture of their franchise.

Boston is well-known to be a team-oriented franchise even if they have had their fair share of mega stars throughout basketball history. From Bill Russell's championship teams to Larry Bird's, up to Paul Pierce's, all of these teams have banked on team spirit that led them to their highest successes.

Ainge might be cautious that someone like Cousins would ruin the franchise's essence.

Bleacher Report noted that everything that is happening within the Kings right now is "not the sign of a healthy organization". And at the center of all that, pun intended, is the 25-year-old Cousins.

Looking at it from a purely talent and potential standpoint, Boston would be remiss to ignore someone like Cousins, but Ainge, being an old part of the team himself, is certainly wise enough to know who are only the ones who deserve to be called a "Celtic".
