"The 0-0 result from the first leg is an equal result and, although we didn't win, it is an acceptable one for us as it was an away match," the 2013 AFC Player of the Year said. "All my teammates are still confident that we will win the game in Guangzhou."

35-year-old Zheng, who, according to China Daily, is once again a nominee for the 2015 AFC Player of the Year, almost scored a goal during the first leg of the final with a volley shot five minutes before the hour mark. But Al Ahli goalie Ahmed Mahmoud was able to deflect the shot with one hand to ensure that the United Arab Emirates squad did not concede an away goal in the matchup.

It was the closest chance for a goal from both sides during the game.

Guangzhou won the tournament for the first time in 2013 when it defeated South Korean club FC Seoul in the final, 3-3, on away goals.

The first leg at the Seoul World Cup Stadium ended up tied at 2-2 while the second one in Tianhe Stadium was 1-1, which gave the Chinese the advantage on away goals 2-1.

"The key thing is we still have the decisive game at our own stadium in order to win the tournament, and we will need to prepare very seriously," said Zheng. "There is no advantage for either team in terms of scoreline, so we have to prepare well get the championship once again."
