Google, Motorola and OnePlus have recently released their flagship smartphone models. Here's a brief comparison between Google's LG-crafted Nexus 5X, Motorola Moto X Play and OnePlus X to determine which is the best device.

The Design

The Moto X Play is 5.5-inches and is the largest among the three with its extra weight and textured back. Users can customize with a chosen colour scheme and phone engraving with the use of the online Moto Maker service.

The 5.2-inch Nexus 5X is noticeably larger than the OnePlus X. Its rear-end is a dull finish for no greasy surfaces.

The OnePlus X 5-inches. It is beautifully thin and light phone and can be operated with one hand. Its sleek design makes it a personal favourite. It comes with its rubber bumper to counter light scratches and grimy fingerprints.

Media and Screen

The three mobiles have Full HD screen, so videos and pictures look pleasing. The panels are bright for easy viewing of the screens under the sun.

To choose the best display, you will simply have to rely on your preference. If you prefer bright colors, OnePlus X can be a great choice with its AMOLED screen. Nexus 5X has more subtler, realistic tints, while Moto X Play's panel offers a lot for the eyes.

If you prefer great-sized media collections, Nexus 5X may not be right as it has no way of increasing its 16GB to 32GB storage space. The space can, however, still easily cover some videos and apps. But If you want full support with microSD cards, settle for Moto X Play or OnePlus X.

Battery Life and Performance

The three smartphones run well in terms of battery life. Each handset was tested for one week and managed to run in 24-hours on a single charge. OnePlus X is the best bet with an amazing streaming of eight to nine hours. Moto X Play had seven hours and Nexus 5X offers six to seven hours.

The best performer is Nexus 5X, with its Snapdragon processor backed by 2GB RAM. You'll notice episodic Ul stutters, which OnePlus X and Moto X Play also have.

All three handsets run Android, with Nexus X5 having the latest version of Marshmallow. The two other handsets will receive Android updates this new year. With that being said, you may need to wait a month or so before you buy your chosen mid-range phones.
