Former TVB actress Shirley Yeung is giving all-out moral support to Sire Ma amid the latter's recent ordeals with a scandal that wreaked havoc on her private life.

The two are not known to be close friends but Shirley was all praises for Sire's positive attitude and strength of character, which helped her deal with the scandal that ensued after her private videos were leaked online in the previous month.

Shirley and Sire were both guests at a recent fashion event where they met backstage and the former gave words of encouragement to the embattled star.

"I think she is very pretty today," Shirley told reporters, adding that many people have been paying too much attention on the issues surrounding Sire Ma.

She also expressed her thoughts that the actress should be left alone and be given some space. Shirley said she was hoping for Sire Ma to be happy and strong.

Shirley herself had been previously targeted with negative publicity after her controversial split with Gregory Lee and later on becoming pregnant with Andy Ng's daughter.

She is now raising her two-year old daughter Krystal as a single mother. The actress is said to be facing financial difficulties and pressure from the media.

Shirley was under the employ of TVB for 13 years before she decided to leave the entertainment outfit. The actress is no longer active in the film industry and has reportedly needed to look for other sources of income.

Media had estimated that the actress would need around HK$100,000 to support her daughter, and the unsolicited information had the actress thrown.

"Wow, you guys helped me calculate already, even I don't know how to do that," Shirley said, adding that she has been offered numerous jobs since parting ways with TVB.

However, she said she wanted to see if the clients hiring her would give her jobs that she can do, and whether or not they'd fit into her schedule.

These days, Shirley has been spending more time in China accompanied by her assistant while her daughter is left in the care of her mother as she travels for work.
