According to Li, China's great respect for humanity is what has urged the country to take this line of action.

"The Chinese side taking this action is in line with greatest respect for human beings," Li said, according to The Malaysian Insider.

China also hopes that Malaysia and Australia will continue to support search efforts for the missing plane.

"We hope that Malaysia and Australia will continue the work of search and rescue and maintain productive communication with China," Li said.

Flight MH370 went missing on March 8, 2014 en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur. About 239 passengers and crew - most of them Chinese nationals - were aboard the ill-fated plane. Countries across the world have assisted in the search for the missing plane by providing ships, planes, submarines and satellites.

A search of the sea floor off the coast of Perth has been conducted but no signs of the missing plane has been found.

Earlier this year, debris of a plane was found on the shore of Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean by the search teams. The debris is believed to be a part of the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
