A 24-year-old Chinese woman from Hengdian has been found after going missing from home about ten years ago. The parents of Xiao Yun had apparently presumed she was dead before she was found be the police recently.

South China Morning Post reported that Xiao ran away from home after a terrible fight with her mother. She was just 14 years old at the time.

She was reportedly found on Friday Nov. 20 by a policeman during a routine patrol tp an internet café. Xiao was taken to the local police station because she was using a fake identification card.

According to The Star, she told the police that she ran away from home and has been living on her own for the past decade. She narrated that she has been sleeping in different internet cafes and bath houses.

She also told the police that fellow gamers and kind strangers helped her to survive by giving her free meals. In order to make some money, Yun said that she worked as a cashier at internet cafes. When she was not working, she usually plays her favorite online game - CrossFire.

Xiao initially told the police that she was brought up by her grandparents and was hesitant to contact her parents. When the police finally got in touch with her parents, she was left with no choice but to meet with them.

Her parents reportedly could not believe the news that she had been found. They immediately went to the police station to meet up with their long lost daughter. Xiao's mother told reporters that she has not changed her phone number because deep inside she was still hoping that Xiao Yun will contact her.

When asked about what happened, Xiao's mother said, "I have a stubborn personality and a short temper, so I used to scold her. But it has been 10 years and now she's an adult. I will never scold her again."
