China coach Jenny Lang Ping said the team seriously prepared for the match against South Korea, which is considered as one of the strongest teams in Asia.
"We are not very stable with our reception and could improve more in our blocking and defense," said Ping.
China is now in second place in the team standings with 16 points four points behind defending champions Brazil. The Chinese will play Serbia next who are currently in 5th place.
Kim led her squad early in the first set at 16-12. China rallied and with some terrific defensive stops they tied the match at 24 apiece but with an unstoppable attack from Yeon-Koung, gave the set to the Koreans at 26-24.
China regrouped on the second set as Hui attacked furiously over Korean blockers that gave them the set 25-18.
The Koreans had a slim margin, 8-7, at the first technical timeout of the third set but China's setter Qiuyue Wei twisted her ankle on a block and was quickly replaced by Na Wang who immediately made an impact as they went on to take the set 25-22.
Despite the barrage of attacks from Yeon-Kuong, Hui matched her with her own series of spikes that handed the Koreans its fourth loss in the tournament.
Brazil continued their dominance in the event having won their seventh consecutive match against the United States in a thrilling five-set match in Thailand.
Both of the teams would not let up on the first set as they went on to a tiebreak that finally ended with a 31-29 set win for the Americans.
The second set has been phenomenal for the Americans as Kelly Murphy led her team to a series of attacks to take the set 25-22.
The two-time Olympic Gold medalists Brazil would not be counted out though as they rallied the next three sets to win the match and stay in first place in the overall standings.
