Developer Twisted has announced the release of a Remote Play app that would allow gamers to play PlayStation 4 games on a PC by streaming the games, but it would not be free.

This Remote Play system started as an Android app intended to enhance PlayStation Vita's capabilities to enable gamers remotely play PS4 games and allow them continue their progress on the go so long as they are connected to the Internet. However, the company has extended the capabilities to PC users with a normal Windows app. Meaning, users for this app will be able to boot up PlayStation 4 first-person shooter games and play using keyboard and mouse - the way it should be played.

To Remote Play PlayStation 4 games on PC, users need to run an Android emulation of one of that platform's programs on PC.

According to Hot Hardware, Twisted took a lot of time adding this functionality, thus the company would not be providing this Remote Play for free. $10 is the official price for the Remote Play app.

"I'd like to work on this project full time, adding features, getting it stable and porting it to other platforms which I know a lot of you want," the developers said. "The only way to support this is to charge for the app, all my previous projects have been free and I don't want to have to but sadly it is the only way to support my living costs."

The unofficial Remote Play app seems to provide a much more enjoyable experience than 'PlayStation Now' game streaming service, according to some gamers. Until we get hands on with it ourselves, it is hard to tell exactly how this will work out.

Twisted is planning to release the first version of Remote Play app on Wednesday.
