Adele's latest album 25 is set to make a history in the music industry. This has been described as the "Adele Effect."
The release of 25 is forecasted to boost the sales of studio albums in the American music industry. Over the years, studio albums have suffered setbacks as consumers now prefer digital singles and the online music streaming.

"After processing the first sales reports from Monday, Nov. 23, the album has already sold at least 2,433,000 in pure album sales in slightly more than three days. That sum beat the single-week record for an album since Nielsen began tracking sales in 1991, set by N'Sync's No Strings Attached, when it debuted with 2,416,000 in the week ending March 26, 2000," Billboard declared.
Nielsen forecasted that 25 will hit 3-million sold copies in its first week of release.
Some experts in the music industry dubbed this as a revolution in the American music industry.
According to Huffington Post, the "Adele Effect" is a worldwide success.
"While the biggest-selling album of the year has not belonged to an artist outside of the pop genre since 2010, the music industry has shifted quite a bit since the March 2011 release of Adele's globally successful sophomore album 21 and was just as different before it," the Huffington Post reported.
Pop singer Taylor Swift's contribution in the comeback of studio albums was also hailed. Swift's 1989 album has been described as a "gift to the music industry." During the first week of its release in October 2014, 1989 sold around 1.28-million copies. This is something that had not happened since 2002 when The Eminem Show was released.
It is being predicted, however, that 1989 will be overtaken by Adele's 25 as the best selling album.
"With a few weeks left in 2015 and Hello, the first single of 25 being the first single to sell 1-million downloads in its release week, it's safe to say that the top selling album of the year will go to Adele's 25," the Huffington Post added.
