PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles have been in business for nearly two years now, with PS4 seemingly topping it all in terms of sales. The two rival consoles are noted to have similarities in terms of hardware, software, specifications and services, according to PC Advisor. Surprisingly, it is difficult to choose between any of the two. In this article, we will weigh the benefits of each console so you can make the best choice.

For a hard-core gamer, the PS4 is generally the choice. The hardware is more powerful than the Xbox One as its software and interface focus more on games. The Xbox One is more focused on movies, TV and voice-controlled entertainment, which was a major mistake that Microsoft did during its launch.

Sony is focused on making its product affordable for users. Microsoft came up with a pricey device that one can consider, basically due to the second-generation Kinect. Today, it is now an option rather than a default. For this reason, Xbox One's price has dropped to £299 in Amazon without Kinect. Microsoft got the idea that it had to sell an affordable device, especially when intended for gaming. This is comparably similar to the PS4's price, which is also about the same amount.

Comparing the Xbox One and PS4 consoles, the PS4 is smaller and sleeker in design, according to Trusted Reviews. It operates quietly, though there may be some noise created while playing a game. The Xbox One is bigger and chunkier than the PS4 and fits the average home entertainment setup. It is, however, quieter than the PS4.

There are selected games which may work for PS4 alone such as "Blacklight: Retribution" and "Final Fantasy XIV: a Realm Reborn." Xbox One's counterpart for these games are "Below and Crimson Dragon" and more. Games like "Battlefield 4" and "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" may work on both consoles. In fact, there are a whole line of games that work with both consoles like "NBA 2K14," "NBA Live 14" and more.

In comparison, it really isn't important whether one chooses a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One console as one can get the benefits of playing with any of these consoles. PS4 may be higher in terms of people's choice, but Xbox One is not far left behind.
