Darth Vader's familiar and foreboding entrance theme plays in the background as the new movie's villain is finally put on the spotlight-Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver and best known for his role in Lena Dunham's HBO shot, Girls. Epic battle scenes abound and the cryptic voice of the Supreme Leader Smoke, voiced by Andy Serkis, talking to Ren can be heard.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the 7th installment in the beloved series. It's the first since the Lucas Films series was acquired by Disney and marks the beginning of a new trilogy that essentially reboots the entire Star Wars universe. Joining Driver in the film are English actors and relative newcomers, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega.

Harrison Ford reprises his iconic role as Han Solo, where he can be seen confronting a Stormtrooper in the trailer. Other Star Wars veterans joining the cast are Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the original trilogy and Peter Mayhew as the Wookie, Chewbacca. Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker and was the main protagonist in the first Star Wars films, is also set to return but has yet to be seen in any of the recently released trailers, posters or merchandise, including this newest teaser release.

Fans do not have to wait long to find out the reason why director JJ Abrams is holding out on Skywalker screentime though as the movie is set to open worldwide on December 18.
