Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly seems to be on the hot seat as the team's season continues to spiral downwards.

According to Yahoo Sports, the former Oregon head coach was brought into Philadelphia to bring his innovative, fast-paced offense to the NFL.

However, after two 10-6 seasons, it seems that the Chip Kelly system has hit its first real obstacle. And in a city like Philadelphia, where the fans do not take well to losing, obstacles can get someone fired unless they do something about it.

But will the first losing season for Chip Kelly mean that he will get fired? The truth of the matter is, probably not. Even though fans are really putting a lot of pressure on both owner Jeff Lurie and Kelly, Lurie has invested too much to give up after one bad season.

The most likely reason for Kelly to stay is that according to ESPN if Kelly does decide to leave or if he gets fired the team he leaves will be such a project for anyone to take over the team will be in rebuilding for years to come.

So how can the Eagles improve on their current situation, seeing that they may not be seeing the end of the Chip Kelly era any time soon?

While there are many things that are needed, the biggest concern is that the team needs to bolster the offensive line. For the last two seasons, the Philadelphia offensive line was considered to be one of the best in the NFL. With three potential Pro-Bowl players in Jason Peters, Jason Kelce, and Evan Mathis protecting the line, the offense flourished ranking in the top 10 in most offensive categories.

Now with Peters Hurt, Kelce playing sub-par, and Mathis cut in the pre-season, the offensive line is but a shell of what once was. Kelly will need to fix the holes that have been made by injury or players leaving and fast.

While it may seem that Chip Kelly won't be going anywhere this season or next, it's clear that the fans of Philadelphia are beginning to turn on him. If Kelly is going to keep his job one thing has to be done, and that's winning.
