Reports indicate that photo sharing and social networking service Instagram is in the process of testing a new feature that will allow users to add multiple accounts into a single app.
According to Android Headlines, the feature is still in the experimental phase and it is currently available to a selected group of users. The feature was seen on the version 7.12.10 of the Instagram app where a new option labeled Add Account was added under the Settings menu.

The new feature is located right below the option that gives user the ability to clear search history. If users opt to add a secondary account on the app, they will be able to switch between the two accounts through a drop down menu located in the profile section. A green colored message will let the user know which account is currently active.
Users will be able to log out of their accounts via the settings menu. They also have the ability to log out just one account or log out both accounts at the same time, according to Tech Crunch.
Tech experts have noted that the new feature was added via cloud. This will allow users to use the new feature without any need to update the version of their app. Instagram is yet to officially release a statement detailing the whole scope of the new feature.
Experts, as well as users, are keen to know how many users are allowed to be included into a single app. In order to take advantage of the new feature, Instagram users are advised to update their apps to the latest 7.12.10 version. Instagram also has a beta testing program where participants are given a heads up of the latest features before they are rolled out to the public.
The new feature is sure to appeal to business owners and social media managers as they might have their personal accounts aside from the account they use for their businesses or jobs.
