A new study has revealed that walnuts the consumption of walnuts can improve a person's diet. The BMJ Open Diabetes Research & Care featured a study which explained that walnuts will improve the quality of one's diet if included in meals for at least six months.
Walnuts are particularly good for people who are diabetic, according to a report from the Daily Times Gazette.

"Walnuts are uniquely nutritious, so they likely confer advantages that other nuts do not," said Dr. David Katz of the Yale University School of Medicine.
The richness of walnuts with fatty acids, such as Vitamin E and Folate, makes it a healthy component for one's diet.
"In general, nut consumption was connected to health benefit, including decrease in all-cause mortality, but few nuts are examined in isolation - mostly walnuts and almonds, and to a lesser extent, pistachios," Katz added.
Counsel Heal elaborated the methodology used by the researchers in the study. Around 100 participants were observed for the purpose of research. The participants were grouped into two. One group was asked to randomly follow a diet with restricted calorie intake and to include in their diet 56-gram of walnuts. The other group was not given such guidance. The participants were under observation for six months.
Other factors such as fat intake, age, exercising and calorie count were also considered in the study.
The findings, indeed, showed that walnuts can improve the quality of a person's diet.
"Our data suggests that inclusion of walnuts in the diet, with or without dietary counseling to adjust caloric intake, improved diet quality and may also improve and reduce total and LDL cholesterol in this sample of adults at risk for diabetes," the study concluded.
The findings of the study are helpful in addressing the medical concern about the rising number of diabetic cases worldwide.
