Microsoft officially has started rolling out the beta version of its Cortana app for iOS devices.

Cortana is a personal assistant application similar to Google Now and Apple's Siri. This week, many users signed up to trial the new Cortana application. But later on, Microsoft revealed that the iOS version of Cortana is already available for download in Apple store.

Tech Crunch reported that the beta version of the application offers voice-powered assistance. The application also helps managing users schedule. Cortana can be set as a reminder and alarms to notify the owner. The new application also has the ability to track things like packages, flights, stocks, scores and more.  Users can also use the Cortana to search Bing, get info on restaurants and movie and TV listings, get directions, track your interests, and even open apps.

According to Microsoft, the Cortana version for iOS helps Windows users to connect with iPhone and other Apple iOS devices.

In August, an Android version of Cortana was made for available testing on the platform. But in early November, the company announced its plan to begin testing Cortona on iOS devices. Microsoft made an online forum and conducted a survey to discover which users are interested in trying out the iOS software version. The survey focused on user's opinion regarding their devices, and whether they are using the app on a Windows 10 PC. Probably, Microsoft is looking to find people who was planning to test the app cross-platform.

The original survey for Cortana on iOS is available to those staying in the U.S. and China, but the survey was intended for U.S. testers.
