Amazon is giving away unlimited cloud storage on its servers for only five dollars this Holiday Season. The company's normal charge for this service is $60 per year, so this is 92% off the original price.
This deal is aimed at promoting Amazon's Cloud Drive services, according to TechCrunch. For those who do not know what Amazon's Cloud Drive service is, it is an online storage site similar to Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft's OneDrive and others.

Amazon's Cloud Drive allows users to store their music, documents, videos, photos and other files in the cloud, which can be accessed through the Internet. This service is accessible using tablets, smartphones and other devices through Amazon's Cloud Drive mobile applications.
Users who are planning to avail the now five dollars service for photo backups purposes, have already that option enabled. Amazon is currently offering a free unlimited photo backup as one of its feature. Users may not need to sign up for Cloud Drive if they do not need to archive other file types.
This feature Amazon is offering is not just for newcomers. Current subscribers can also avail this discount, according to Amazon. The company reported that current users can refund their current plan after they buy the five dollars deal.
However, this five dollars subscription is not a one-time fee. This service is an annual subscription, which means this service comes up for a renewal. There is also a possibility that subscribers may be forced to pay the full price if Amazon ends this promotion.
Amazon's software is becoming better over the past month now; however, it is not as developed and polished compare to competitors like Microsoft, Google, Dropbox, Box and others. But for the price of five dollars, there is really not much reason not to grab a huge chunk of online storage space.
