Climate Change Summit Begins: U.S. President Obama and China's Jinping Vow to Cut Down Carbon Emissions

(Photo : Pixabay) Climate change summit begins this week in Paris as 196 nations will agree to cut down carbon emissions.
On Monday, a global climate change conference aims to forge a treaty where 196 countries will agree to reduce man made greenhouse carbon emissions that are the major cause of climate change and global warming.
There are now 151 world leaders that are converging in the exhibition halls of the Le Bourget Airport, just outside of Paris where the summit will take place, amidst extremely high security. Currently, Paris is still recovering from terrorist attacks after two weeks, when Islamic militants slaughtered 130 civilians in a series of coordinated attacks.

The event was opened on Monday by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius who said that negotiators will only be allowed a few days to finalized this crucial agreement via core talks. He adds that by December 11, the conference should end with its "mission accomplished".
According to climate chief for United Nations, Christina Figueres during her opening remarks, this is the greatest responsibility to have ever been decided by so few. The world is looking to you, world leaders.
United States President Barack Obama arrived in Paris late Sunday night where he even paid a surprise visit to the Bataclan Theater in Paris where 90 people were killed during the November 13 attacks. In respect, he place a single white rose at the memorial found at the site.
On Monday, he hosted the bilateral talks along with China's President Xi Jinping where Obama placed emphasis on China and U.S. efforts to curb the effects of climate change. The two large nations are the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Obama declared that this coordination with China has been necessary in order to become fruitful where the two largest carbon emitters, they have now determined that it is their responsibility to take immediate action to save the planet.
