A support team representating e-commerce giant Amazon has mentioned that the movie streaming Amazon Instant Video app could be launched in the fourth-generation Apple tvOS within a few weeks.
A user of the service's iOS app engineer Dan Bostonweeks received a promising reply from a customer representative on Friday, Nov. 27. The technical team of the company is said to already be in the process of developing a tvOS offering that should be ready in the next few weeks as the unnamed Amazon employee also mentioned that the company has already succeeded in developing an app for iPhone and iPad.

During Apple's tvOS App Store launch lineup in October, Amazon Instant Video was notably absent. Some wrongly criticized Apple in October for seemingly not allowing Prime Instant Video on the new Apple TV. The fact that Amazon will have an app on Apple TV is a little bit surprising, considering that both companies are considered competitors.
Apple opened their doors to popular features such as over-the-top streaming and on-demand services for customers who are seeking alternatives to traditional cable television packages. An expectedly high interest in games is shown in a first weekend breakdown of app downloads.
All Apple TV and Chromecast were removed in Amazon's product listings from its website last month due to no offers of its Prime Video streaming service. The company's main reason was that customers may get confused.
Tens of thousands of movies and TV episodes are instantly streamed in the Amazon Instant Video. Amazon Prime members can access the Amazon Instant Video for iOS which is free on the App Store. This service is also available on Android, Amazon Fire TV, Fire OS, PS3, PS4, Wii, Wii U, Roku, Xbox 360, Xbox One, the web, and selected TV and Blu-ray players from LG, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, and Vizio.
Amazon told BuzzFeed News that they do not have anything to share on the topic at this time.
