‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ is the Best Film of 2015, According to National Board of Review

The influential National Board of Review has picked Mad Max: Fury Road as its best film of 2015.
The Time cited that this recognition may mean that the movie is also on its way for an Oscar's award.

Time cited some reasons why Mad Max: Fury Road is worth the attention.
First, the movie is a huge-budget action film that entertains audience with its magnanimous visual effects. Second, the movie is considered as a feminist action film with Vagina Monologues writer Eve Ensler as the movie's consultant. The lead actress Charlize Theron also fits her role as the heroine Imperator Furiosa.
According to BBC News, National Board of Review President Annie Schulhof proclaimed that "2015 has been a banner year for popular cinema."
She talked about the action film Mad Max: Fury Road.
"We are thrilled to be awarding [Mad Max director] George Miller and Ridley Scott, two iconic film-makers at the top of their game, while also celebrating the next generation of talent," she said.

Ridley Scott for Best Director for The Martian
Matt Damon for Best Lead Actor for The Martian
Brie Larson for Best Lead Actress for the Room
Sylvester Stallone for Best Supporting Actor for Creed
Jennifer Jason Leigh for Best Supporting Actress for Hateful Eight
Quentin Tarantino for Best Original Screenplay for Hateful Eight
The National Board of Review also awarded Asif Kapadia's Amy as the Best Documentary Prize. It is a documentary about the life the late singer Amy Winehouse.
Additionaally, Cecilia De Mille Presley received the 2015 William K Everson Film History Award Winner. Presley is the granddaughter of Cecil B De Mille, a legendary director and staunch advocate for the preservation of the film industry.
The National Board of Review is a group of various film enthusiasts and professionals.
