LinkedIn on Tuesday launched a redesigned version of its mobile app that looks more like Facebook for iOS and Android users worldwide.
LinkedIn's new app was first previewed in October and looks like Facebook that is centered around a central feed, where updates from people in the network and content being shared on LinkedIn are seen. It filters which updates the user can see based on what the user most likely to be interested in. The company mentioned that the feature will be better over time as the users uses the app more.

The company designed the app with five tabs on the screen with the aim to provide a noncluttered user experience. The home feed which is structured a lot like recently revamped Pulse app, is where users can see posts from people in an extended network and also articles that are popular among people with similar jobs.
LinkedIn's Vice President Jonathan Redfern of Product claims that the feed is the core for the mobile app and the spine of its app. The feed that used to have a lot about the users' connections has been updated to focus more on professional topics and interests users have chosen to follow. Redfern also said that the app has learnings and code from different apps which is noted between both Pulse and Connected.
A 'My Network' section is outside of the feed that suggests people the user may know as well as cards with bite-sized updates about the user's connected friends like work anniversaries and new jobs. It is similar to LinkedIn's Connected app that revolves around updates like these.
The new messaging features and an overhauled search feature that LinkedIn claims is 300% faster than the previous app.
All of the new updated features are now available on iOS and Android. You can download it for free from the App Store and Google Play Store.
