July 25th, when being interviewed by a Xinhua News Agency reporter, Huang Qiusheng said: "I did it all out of kindness. I don't mean to say simplified Chinese characters are inferior". Traditional Chinese character is a key to Chinese culture, but Huang Qiusheng admits he also use simplified Chinese characters commonly.

"I'm not opposed the use of simplified Chinese characters, as simplified characters are very convenient." Huang said. However, when we need to study Chinese ancient culture or read ancient books, it's not enough to only understand simplified Chinese characters. The best way to solve the problem is to use simplified Chinese characters in daily life, at the same time to understand Chinese traditional characters in research.
A few days ago, Huang Qiusheng posted a micro blog on Sina Weibo, said: "Half of Chinese people can't read Chinese traditional characters now. Chinese civilization has died in Mainland China." After the observation was reported by Chinese media, it attracts criticism from tremendous Chinese netizens.
Huang Qiusheng didn't expect his words could provoke such a big bang. "I was still casting after I posted that blog. First day, thousands of comments; second day, tens of thousands of comments; third day, oh my! Every website is discussing it."
Huang emphasizes he is not a scholar or an expert. Moreover, Sina Weibo is also not a place for research. The micro blog is just his own impression on reading several cultural books.
When talking about the original intention of that blog, Huang said: "I often work in Mainland China. I find many young actors and staff around can't read traditional Chinese characters, so I am curious about it."
Huang Qiusheng added: "The saying that Chinese civilization has died in Mainland China is inaccurate. There are many experts who devote themselves to the work of protecting Chinese cultural heritage and promoting Chinese cultural development."
