Official reports said that none of the survivors suffered great injury but are still being checked at a hospital. However, two of the foreign tourists are still missing following the Saturday incident.
The Indonesian police told the Agence France-Presse news agency that the boat sank at around 7 p.m. after it hit a reef while it was travelling from Lombok to the Komodo Islands in eastern Indonesia.
Based on a statement released by officer Suryaman, local fishermen rescued five of the tourists after the incident. Another five were rescued by a sailing boat on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, another survivor told reporters that there were others who managed to save themselves by swimming to a nearby island.
French survivor Bertrand Homassel told reporters that when the boat started to sink, everyone began to panic and decided to swim to the nearest island which was about three miles away and had an erupting volcano.
Those who swam to the island were found by a sailing boat on Sunday.
Included in the tour were Dutch, Spanish, German, Kiwi and British foreigners.
A U.K. Foreign Office spokesperson said they are providing consular support to the two British nationals who are currently hospitalized after the incident. The spokesperson refused to comment regarding the details of the injuries suffered by the Britons.
Lombok is an island located east of Indonesia and is being frequented by tourists all year round.
