Brunette beauty Selena Gomez finally speaks up about the status of her health after news about her battle with lupus broke out earlier this year.
Two months ago, the young singer revealed that she was indeed afflicted with the autoimmue disease and kept it secret for years. Despite coming clean and revealing her diagnosis, she continues to feel uncomfortable over the attention that she has received and continues to receive because of it.

The 23-year old notes that while the "response has been very supportive", it is in fact, overwhelming. She believes that she did wait for the right time to talk about it and assure her fans and the public that she's in a "great place" and is very healthy.
Her lupus was the main reason that the pop singer had to take a brief hiatus in late 2013, which ran through the early part of 2014. Complications from the disease required Selena to spend two weeks in a treatment center that even spurred rumors about Selena going into rehab for substance abuse.
She recalls how much she wanted to explain that she was being treated for lupus and was undergoing chemotherapy but instead, "locked herself away until I was confident and comfortable again."
Selena joins fellow Hollywood stars Nick Cannon, Lady Gaga and Toni Braxton who also suffer from the disease and have shared their struggle with it.
