Internet Explorer users are suffering from a slowdown in their browsers due to troublesome dialog boxes.
Microsoft over the weekend issued a hotfix for Internet Explorer and also recommended IE users download the latest updates for Windows 7 and 8.
In an article on its website, Microsoft said "web applications that implement consecutive modal dialog boxes may cause Internet Explorer to become slow and unresponsive over time."

The hotfix that Microsoft issued for IE versions 7 to 11 is basically for major versions.
A modal dialog box is a dialog box that an application interjects, forcing users to take some action. The dialog box might ask users to download a certain file or confirms the closing of a window, for example.
If the glitch occurs consecutively, the performance of Inter Explorer could slow down or the browser will simply stop working.
Microsoft said users who updated their Internet Explorer with the MS14-037 or MS14-051 security updates are the only ones affected by the dialog box flaw.
Microsoft's support page listed the updates users need to apply. It only includes an update package. Restarting one's personal computer is required to activate the hotfix.
Microsoft's hotfix is a simpler update compared to previous registry fixes in August including 2982791, 2970228, 2975719 and 297533.
