The psyche of the Bates Motel characters will be carefully assessed by professional doctor. Dr. Gregg Edwards, who will join Bates Motel as a Pineview Mental Institution Resident Doctor with a curosity and investment in his own patients.

Dr. Edwards will be played by Damon Gupton, who also appeared in The Last Airbender, Unfaithful and Whiplash. He was Adam Page in The Divide, Empire's Detective Calvin Walker and The Player's Detective Cal Brown.

Meanwhile, according to reports, Norman Bates could finally be committed in this season. In Season 3, Dylan (Max Thieriot) finally saw something wrong with his brother when he awoke thinking he was their mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga). Norman hallucinated a couple of times throughout the previous season and these pushed him to do things he wouldn't do when conscious. Norma then went to a mental hospital to get help for her son but when she told Norma about it, he took it negatively. Norman packed a suitcase and stormed out of the house after a struggle with Norma. Norman eventually killed Bradley (Nicola Peltz) and disposed her car with Norma's hallucinations.

In Season 4, Norma will do everything to raise enough money to have her son admitted to Pineview Mental Institution. Mental facilities are expensive and it is curious what Norma Bates can do to get that amount of money just to get things fixed for Norman. Dr. Gregg Edwards could be a love interest for Norma but whatever happens between the two of them Norma and Romero would still be a couple.

Bates Motel Season 4 will premiere around March of 2016.
