According to Wenhui News from Hong Kong, it said that there are several Japanese encephalitis sufferers who were found around Tianshuiwei, Hong Kong. Hong Kong Secretary for Food and Health, Gao Yongwen, visited 3 sufferers on July 23th and said they would strengthen the control of mosquito and reduce the possibility of this disease. But the rainy season will come in the near future, there's a high possibility that new cases will appear. But he also emphasized that the bacteria won't infect from people to people. Besides, the first sufferer still has a clear consciousness and the second one is getting better because of antibiotic. Gao says some departments have strengthened the control of mosquito, especially in Tianshuiwei area.
Gao says that all the victims are from Tianshuiwei, so there's a high risk in this area. They have done some research of the mosquito in this area and haven't found any bacteria of encephalitis in those mosquitos. But he points out if the resource of this disease is from animal, pig might be the source and mosquito may be just the channel of contagion. But it won't infect from people to people.
Guo Deling said none of the victims could remember if they stung by mosquito and they didn't go to the same place.
