But G.E.M. is not totally to blame.

The 24-year-old's relations with Hong Kong media took a turn for the worse in November last year after her manager Chang Tan affronted the Hong Kong press over his haughty behavior during a press briefing for her X.X.X. tour.

In April this year, her manager reportedly had a heated argument with the production team of I Am a Singer 2, forcing G.E.M. to leave the singing competition and damaging her image in China. To rob salt on the wound, her producer Lupo Groinig slammed Hong Kong media for lack of integrity while preferring an American media outlet to interview the singer.

G.E.M.'s X.X.X. World Tour, which saw her perform 73 shows in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, has just ended - but not without any issues. It was rumored that her London show fared poorly in the ticket box officessales and that fans who earlier purchased their tickets resold them at a cheaper cost, some of them allegedly even gave the tickets away free. The singer's spokespersons has, however, denied the claim, saying this is a propaganda to smear her image.

Nevertheless, the issues thrown at G.E.M. does not seem to have affected her success as a touring act. And more work is waiting for her with a concert slated for Studio City Macau soon.
