Sandbox ‘Minecraft’ Game is Finally Coming to the Nintendo Wii U

Nintendo has announced that the best-selling sandbox game 'Minecraft' will be coming to Nintendo Wii U very soon. The game will be released on Dec. 17 for the price of $29.99.

The sandbox best-selling game is already available on almost every platform around, from smartphones, PC, and even the current-gen consoles. Therefore, the absence of this game on Nintendo is very notable. But this is going to change as Nintendo revealed that Minecraft will be available for the Wii U. According to The Verge, the sandbox Minecraft game will look exactly like the versions of the game on other consoles.

The difference between Nintendo's Minecraft and other console version is that Wii U version will support off-TV play. Meaning, users can play Minecraft on the go using the Nintendo's Gamepad.

According to Nintendo, during its launch, lots of downloadable content will also be rolled our, such as skin packs based on 'The Simpsons' and 'Star Wars.' Nintendo World Report reported that packs that will be available at the launch will include Natural Texture Pack, Battle and Beasts Skin Pack, Battle and Beasts 2 Skin Pack, City Texture Pack, Fantasy Texture Pack, and Festive Mash-up Pack.

Minecraft players can also purchase 16 add-ons during the launch. Add-ons such as The Simpsons Skin Pack, Festive Skin Pack, Doctor Who Skins Volume 1, Doctor Who Skins Volume 2, Star Wars Rebels Skin Pack, Star Wars Classic Skin Pack, Star Wars Prequel Skin Pack, Mass Effect Mash-up Pack, Skyrim Mash-up Pack, Plastic Texture Pack, Cartoon Texture Pack, Candy Texture Pack, Steampunk Texture Pack, Greek Mythology Mash-up Pack, Pattern Texture Pack, and Halloween 2015 Mash-up Pack.

The company also reported that they are working with Mojang (a game developer company) to create a brand new content exclusively for Nintendo fans and to be released at a future date.

This will be the first time Minecraft is porting on Nintendo hardware. Meanwhile, Minecraft will be launching on a different devices soon, including Microsoft's Hololens and Oculus Rift.
