Remember how crazy the American movie Delivery Man tells the story of a fictional character David Wozniak who fathered more than 500 children? Declan Rooney is a real-life version of that character.

Rooney claims to have fathered 17 boys and 14 girls by offering his sperm via donor service website he set up in 2014. In addition, he claims to have eight children from four different mothers of his own and verified that currently, there are 15 women pregnant by him.

He insisted it is his way to "help women in need." In an interview, he stated "I'm not ashamed. I have helped women create families." 

His website claims to offer services to lesbian couples, bisexual women, heterosexual couples and single women at no cost. Help can be given through artificial insemination or "naturally with no strings attached."

Rooney, who travels as far as 200 miles to meet with his clients, only asks for a refund of the expenses incurred during travel. His website is reportedly so in-demand that there was an instance he got to conceive three women in a day.

"I have helped people who have been to clinics where it's failed, and it has worked first time with me. There are more babies born in the UK by private donation than through private clinics,' he stated.

The former website designer said he demands strict terms on his services. He requires no sexual contact and women should quit smoking during pregnancy. Furthermore, he asks for proof of financial capacity to ensure they can sustain a child.

"All of the recipients keep in touch. All these babies are healthy and happy. I have a watchful eye. They send me feedback and tell me how the children are doing."

With his current number, he already went beyond the maximum allotted families (10 families) in the official guidelines for sperm donation.

In addition, despite his good intentions, experts fear that this unregulated practice would cause harm. They brought up the possibility that these children, some living within the same surroundings, might get into intimate relationships. But Rooney claimed that women are aware of others but at the same time respect eac other's privacy.
