Samsung announced earlier that that Gear S2 smartwatch will have the Samsung Pay feature working by November, but so far this has not been done. It turns out that it will be released at some other time.

SamMobile reports that during the launch of the first ever Samsung smartwatch with a circular display, the company announced that the Gear S2 would support Samsung Pay come November.

As it is still inactive now even although it's already December, Gear 2 users have been asking when the function will actually work. Samsung has said that it will be available in 2016.

Contrary to having a press conference or a press release to make the announcement, the information was relayed via a tweet.

A user named Michael (@_TheTRn) said he was told that the feature will be working in November. As he tweeted the comment in November 30, he also mentioned that only two days are remaining before December comes, and yet the feature is still turned off.

Samsung immediately replied with an apology, and said that the feature will come to the Gear S2 in 2016. An exact date, however, is still missing as the tweet told him to hold on and wait for more information.

Droid Life reports that this innocent reply will save users from waiting in the dark, as the Korean tech giant hasn't released any official information to the public regarding the delay. Thankfully, the company responded to the confused Gear S2 user.

Unlike other smartwatches, the Gear S2 smartwatch has no MST, the technology that sets Samsung Pay apart from other similar services such as Apple Pay. However, it has NFC, which will give users mobile payment conveniences.
