Apple on Wednesday launched a new iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case that prolongs the talk time and internet use up to a total of 25 and 18 hours, respectively. This is the first official Apple-made iPhone battery case.

The outside material of the case is similar to the company's previous line of silicone accessories. An added hump is seated in the middle of backside where the extra battery rests.

Apple's iPhone 6s Smart battery case is priced at $99 in US, £79 in the UK and AU$165 in Australia. Buyers can also purchase this product through Apple's online store.

The case is actually pretty comfortable to hold, according to CNET. The soft-touch rubbery silicone case is made of the same material as Apple's Smart Cases and Covers, and slip-on iPhone accessories, lined with soft microfiber on the inside. This new product has charcoal gray and white color options.

Its new feature is the intelligent battery life status that is displayed for users on both the iPhone lock screen and in Notification Center. This makes it easier to determine how much life the accessory has left.

All Lightning products such as the iPhone's bundled-in Lightning cable and the official iPhone Lightning Dock are supported in the Smart Battery Case.

No version for the iPhone 6s Plus has been announced yet, but users of 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model can use the new case due to design similarities with the iPhone 6s.

Apple's Smart Battery Case capacity is 1,877 mAh which is compatible with the iPhone 6 as well.
