The launch of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi 4 would not bring any significant changes to the MIUI.

Both of these handsets are included in the first Xiaomi lineup of devices that are set to get this Android Operating System. As reported by The Waltonian, the operations manager of Xiaomi has already announced the launching of this firmware, yet no specific date has been provided yet.

According to the International Business Times,  the rolling out of the Android Marshmallow for Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi 4 will start in the following weeks and that, the user interface will remain the same. It will stay as MIUI 7, although there could be some visible modifications in the stock Android. MIUI 7 is also expected to offer 10% more in its battery life and 30% faster in the response system.

Xiaomi is also reported by NDTV Gadgets to have partnered with Microsoft and the partnership was said to have created the Windows 10 Mobile ROM specifically for Mi 4. This firmware which was actually meant for the variant LTE of Mi 4 has already been available since Dec. 3.

The Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi 4  are both running the Android 4.4 KitKat version. It has been reported as well that Xiaomi will stop the development of work on the KitKat-based ROMS starting week. As soon as the Android Marshmallow OTA update becomes available to the two handsets, the users may now be able to install it to begin the Marshmallow features experience.

Xiaomi is said to be working also on their Mi 5 smartphone that is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2016, which, according to their CEO, Lei Jun, is worth the long wait.
