A Hong Kong student has narrowly escaped going to jail for selling 'drug-laced delicacies' to her schoolmates during a sport's event in Tsing Yi last year.

Dora Radic, an 18-year-old secondary Form Four student at YMCA Hong Kong Christian College, was only penalized with HK$10,000 fine on Tuesday during her hearing at a court in Tsuen Wan.

Radic pleaded guilty to one count of dangerous drug trafficking. She allegedly presented delicacies to other students that contained 0.38 grams of cannabis molded in five "hash brownies" and twenty two "weed cupcakes." She is said to have sold the drug-coated treats to other students during their institution's athletics assembly last year in Tsing Yi's Sports Ground.

Radic's 17-year-old co-offender Natasha Richards, who is studying in Macau, confessed beforehand to the similar indictment and would have to wait until January 11th next year for a ruling on her case.

A school teacher discovered that the girls were trading in cannabis-mixed delicacies from a student who spotted incriminating messages from the defendants on Facebook.

When teachers found the cohorts Radic and Richards, they are said to have attempted to dump a bag after being summoned. Police later searched the bag and found 22 cupcakes as well as 5 brownies suspected to contain marijuana.

Richards admitted to the authorities that she planned to sell the cakes to students for HK$25 to HK$35. She also confessed that she was offered HK$500 by a male friend to sell the cannabis-laced delicacies and had sold at least 20 pieces on the day, making HK$911.50. She told the police that she baked them.

Considering Radic's young age and the fact that she has admitted breaking the law, Acting Principal Magistrate Cheang Kei-hong decided to just penalize the girl with a 'small amount' of money. Radic also told the court that she was ready to testify against Richards, who initially pleaded not guilty.
