After ending her secret marriage to Taiwanese billionaire Pierre Chen, actress Rosamund Kwan admitted that she regrets loving Chen "too much". The former spouses were together for eight years.
Kwan took to Instagram to share her feelings, uploading a photo and captioning it with: "People always think that the most painful thing is losing the one you love in your life. The truth is...the most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of loving someone too much - forgetting that you are special too."

Fans and followers have noticed that Kwan has been uploading quotes on social media that imply her regrets for having been with Chen. Although the two have yet to confirm the cause for their divorce, many speculate that the main reason for their split is Chen's twin daughters from his previous marriage who refused to acknowledge Kwan as their father's partner.
Helen Ma, a close friend of Kwan, revealed that even though the two were married, Chen was hesitant to introduce the star as his wife.
Ma shared that although her good friend spent a lot of time planning for a spring wedding ceremony, Chen didn't want people knowing about it. She said the secrecy was hard for Kwan who only wanted to let other people know of their union. This led to the cancellation of the ceremony.
"She knew there were problems and didn't want to drag them out. It's not really a big issue - they only had communication problems and trouble getting along," Ma said.
