SpaceX CEO Elon Musk just revealed on Twitter that the Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to be launched next week, only after months when their last mission failed as the rocket exploded just moments after launch, for a cargo resupply mission to the International Space Station.

The date scheduled for this particular launch is December 19, Saturday, from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Space Launch Complex 40 in Florida.
SpaceX is a private space company founded by Musk who is also the the CEO of electric car company Tesla. This next mission is for Falcon 9 to carry 11 Orbcomm communication satellites and launch them into lower Earth orbit. Orbcomm's CEO Marc Eisenberg also revealed via a tweet Wednesday, clues about how near the flight is going to happen.
Elon Musk reveals with a tweet saying, aiming for Falcon 9 rocket static fire at Cape Canaveral on December 16 where launch will be three days later.
This also marks the first flight of SpaceX since the explosion of the last mission, where a Falcon 9 rocket exploded in June as they where about to transport food and supplies to the orbiting space laboratory. Musk expressed how this was a great blow to SpaceX. After this rocket mishap, the company conducted an investigation where it revealed a faulty steel strut located inside the rocket fuel's tank which was apparently the culprit of the incident. After that, SpaceX made the necessary upgrades for the rocket.
Apart from this upgrade, SpaceX will attempt once more to land the rocket back onto solid ground. Previous attempts involved Falcon 9 relying on floating landing pads across the Atlantic near Florida, after releasing a vehicle into space. Normally, rockets fall down and burn up in the atmosphere after releasing a space vehicle, making rockets expensive to manufacture. SpaceX aims to minimize those costs by making a reusable Falcon 9 rocket for multiple launches.
However, Amazon CEO was successful in this attempt as his new space company, Blue Origin, apparently made this into reality when his rocket landed back on Earth after a space launch just a month ago.
