During the last match against South Korea, Zeng Cheng performed very well. Zeng Cheng, who was the star man in holding South Korea with a scoreless draw in Wednesday's 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup match, was rewarded for his exploits with a solid gold medal from his club Guangzhou "Evergrande" on Thursday.
However, because Korean forward Seo Dong-hyeon caught the Chinese goalkeeper Zeng Cheng in the neck during the last match, the scratches in Zeng Cheng's neck are still clear. Even when Zeng Cheng was interviewed after the match, his wounds were still bleeding. After he returned to hotel, Zheng Cheng couldn't close his eyes for a sleep during the whole night as he suffered a splitting headache. What's more, Zeng Cheng's right row of teeth hurt badly. Now suffering the pain, it is even difficult for him to finish a meal. The Chinese team doctors have to prepare an ice bag for Zeng Cheng specially, so that he can apply ice to his swollen and hurt neck.
By the afternoon of July 25th, Zeng Cheng's headache was still severe. Under the circumstance, Chinese national football team decides that he should be hospitalized immediately. So Zeng Cheng was sent to hospital for MRI brain scan. Fortunately, according to the inspection results, it shows the problem seems not big. But the doctors analyzed that Zeng Cheng's cervical nerves were hurt by the South Korea forward. Now Zeng Cheng's nerves are constricted, which causes his splitting headache. Zeng Cheng is also suffering a slight concussion as the South Korea forward kicked him too hard.
