Google just added some new features to sweeten the deal on Google's Chromecast Audio for the holiday shopping spree. Its Chromecast Audio now has high-resolution audio boost and multi-room support.
Users can now set up groups of rooms with multiple Chromecast Audio devices through the Chromecast companion app. Each group appears as an option when choosing which Chromecast device the music should play on.

A high-resolution audio with 96KHz/24-bit lossless playback is supporting the $35 gadget. If the user has the proper audiophile-grade setup and a streaming service, a better CD quality music will come out through the speakers.
Product manager Tomer Shekel had written in a blog post saying that anyone can now sync their own home speakers together and invite their friends to be the DJ.
Chromecast Audio will be used to create a multi-room system over WiFi that is similar to the likes of Sonos and others. Its app is also to be used to group the dongles placed in each room of the user to beam music. Once these dongles are all connected together, the audio can be cast to the speakers into a single unit.
Updating the latest version of the Chromecast app on iTunes or Google Play can take advantage of the new features. This will serve as a cheap solution for whole-home audio.
Chromecast Audio was launched in September to bring Internet music sources like Spotify and Pandora to any speaker over 3.5mm, RCA, or Optical unit. Opening streaming music apps on a phone, tablet, or PC and hitting the Cast button allows the users to control the playback.
Speakers such as LG's Music Flow and Sony's SRS-X series that have Google's Cast technology built-in will have multi-room support some time next year.
It is still unclear if Google will extend the whole-home audio to Chromecast video devices so that a decent sound system is hooked up to TVs.
