Yahoo has added the ability to connect Gmail and Google Apps account to Yahoo Mail.

The multiple mailbox support for Gmail within Yahoo Mail was launched on Thursday Dec. 10 on the mobile app and on the desktop browser. These can be seen in the Account Settings. In October, Yahoo added support for Microsoft Outlook, Hotmail, and AOL Mail during a redesign of its email app but mentioned that there was something missing from their list.

Yahoo Senior Product Manager Shiv Shankar stated that all the Yahoo Mail features such as smart contacts, powerful search, and Yahoo Account Key for password-free sign-in are now available with Gmail.

Not only the most recent emails, but also all connected mailboxes from day one can now be searched across the entire history of emails. The entire Gmail archive with attachments included can be seen in the Yahoo Mail.

Yahoo also announced this week a new Video Guide app. Yahoo's senior director of product management Robby Stein had written in a separate blog post that this new Video Guide app will be an easier and faster way to find and stream movies and TV shows in a cord-cutting age.

Various services from HBO, Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu can be searched to find the latest seasons of television and the summer's blockbuster films. If the user is unsure, Mood Picker can be used and GIFs can be tapped to match the user's mood, and the service will recommend. An in-app playback button will direct the user to the corresponding service on the phone where it can be watched immediately.

Yahoo Video Guide is now available to download for free in USA via the App Store and Google Play. Gmail support in Yahoo Mail is also now available in both Apple iOS and Android apps plus the Yahoo Mail website itself.
