Many people are disappointed after HTC's announcement that the launch of its virtual reality headset called HTC Vive will be delayed until April 2016. A lot of fans were looking forward to getting their hands on HTC Vive before 2015 ends.
HTC Vive is a virtual reality headset developed by HTC and Valve. The headset was supposed to be released this month. However, an announcement by HTC earlier this wee said the release of the Virtual Reality head gear will be pushed back to April of next year.

According to a blog post by HTC dated Dec. 8, the company is trying to clear up misinformation and speculations regarding the launch of HTC Vive. In fact, the headset will not be available to the consumer market until April 2016. But for those who want to pre-order the headset can start doing so by February.
"We will be starting the new year by making an additional 7,000 units available to developers, with preorders from the end of February followed by commercial availability in April 2016," said HTC in a statement.
Reports indicate that the reason behind the delay of HTC Vive is that the company is citing a broader group of partners and content creators. The company also wants to provide consumers with the best possible experience. HTC literally wants more content for its headset.
Since the headset was unveiled, the company has been distributing a large number of HTC Vive Developers Kits to encourage content creators and developers to produce content around entertainment, education, gaming, medical industries and other interest.
Meanwhile, HTC will host a developer conference in Beijing on Friday, Dec. 18. The company is also planning to release the HTC Vive Developer Kit's second generation at CES 2016. HTC Vive headset will be marketed to consumers through events like South by Southwest, Mobile World Congress, Game Developers Conference, and the Sundance Film Festival.
